The kit for a pickup, and the reason is the bed. On a truck the cable would have to leave the tailgate, cross the box and find a way into the cab, which is the part of the job people put off for a year. This one puts a transmitter behind the license plate camera instead and a receiver in the seven-inch monitor, so the only wiring at the back is the pair of reversing-light wires that were always going to be touched.
The monitor takes two cameras and shows them side by side, which is what the second one is for: the tailgate and the curb side at once, in a vehicle where the mirror shows neither. Parking lines shift up, down and out, so they can be set against your own bumper rather than a drawing of somebody else's. Night vision is infrared, so the picture goes gray after dark rather than dropping out. The camera case is rated IP69, and it sits where the wheel throws salt.

A camera shows you what is behind the vehicle. It does not stop the vehicle, it does not watch for you, and it cannot see what is not in the picture: a child crouched against the bumper, a bollard below the lens, a cyclist arriving from the side. Federal rear-visibility rules exist because reversing kills and injures people every year, and the bodies that write those rules ask drivers to look, to walk around the vehicle and to reverse slowly whatever is fitted. Nothing on this site is a substitute for any of that.
